Trouble with Twitter?

Frustrated by Facebook?

Left out of Linked In?

Wish you could call tech support?  You can.

HaveAByte has steadfastly avoided jumping on the social media consulting bandwagon.  We offer only a "tech support service" when you just can't figure things out and need help.  The reality is that we're all experimenting with social media and trying to get an return on investment.  Few have actually done it, but most of us are trying it anyway simply because it's a good way to engage customers.  We believe social media systems are simply interesting new communication tools like telephones or email, and sometimes a way to target advertising to a specific demographic.

If you're not engaging customers through the social media systems, you probably should be.

Social media is a new and growing area, but it is already populated with millions upon millions of people.

Did you know that Facebook has more than 120 million active users, and that you can place a pay-per-click ad directly on Facebook targeting people with certain interests?

Did you know that LinkedIn has the more savvy users, the average age being 41 with an average household income of more than $100,000?

Did you know that there are 30 million Twitter accounts, but that 5% of the users account for 75% of the activity?

That last one might surprise you. It should, and it might even make you want to invest a little less in this whole social media mess.  But these systems obviously support a lot of people.

Facebook especially has it's own advertising platform, and advertising with Google Adwords won't reach that massive Facebook audience.  That's reason alone to start looking into social media in general.

What We Offer and What We Don't

Many people have trouble just getting a basic Twitter account going with a nice background image that matches their site, and embedding their Twitter stream cleanly into their blog.  Creating a Facebook business page with a logo and connecting it to your website can be difficult.  Installing applications into Facebook profiles is pretty easy, but getting them onto Facebook business pages can be notoriously difficult.  When you run into problems, you can call us.  Think of us as tech support for Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn!

We're not claiming to be social media experts who will transform your business and generate a ton of new customers with a social media marketing campaign - because that's a load of crap.  We're just offering you technical support to help you get started on these systems - because right now, that's all you need.

Examples of How We Help

What you should do first.

If you don't have any accounts on any social media systems, start here.

  • We'll walk you through creating your profile accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and answer any questions or concerns you have about signing up.
  • We'll help you create a Facebook "Page" for your business (a FaceBook "page" is not the same as your user profile!)
  • We'll show you how to take your resume and build your LinkedIn account based on that, explain the basics and help you achieve a basic level of profile completeness.

Website integration and branding

It's important that your social media presence be well integrated into your website, and vice versa. Here's just some of the ways we can do that:

  • Icons added to your site linking visitors to your social media profiles (example - see the bottom of this page!)
  • FaceBook badges and/or "Fan Box" added to your site (example1, example2)
  • RSS integration with your blog to FaceBook to mirror the content
  • Custom Twitter background based on your website (example 1example 2)

Further Support, Training, and Custom Work

This is a collection of training and services we can provide to help take your social media presence to the next level. This is custom designed for each client, and includes activities and services such as:

  • Getting involved with LinkedIn groups
  • Targeting specific FaceBook users with ads

  • Pay when you're ready - We bill you when your invoice reaches a certain threshold that you define, such as every $50 or $200 (minimum $25, maximum $750)
